Should You Reset Becker Before the CPA Exam?
Usually, I would not reset everything just because you want a clean slate. Your old performance data can help you see what improved, what remains weak, and what keeps coming back.
Why candidates want to reset
You want to redo the entire question bank, make the course feel new again, and remove completed checkmarks. But visually restarting a course does not restart your knowledge.
What you probably actually want
Most candidates want a complete second pass, fresher practice, or a way to identify unresolved weaknesses. You can usually accomplish those without deleting your history.
A better approach
Create cumulative practice tests, mix multiple units, prioritize unanswered and previously incorrect questions when available, and track concepts that continue to produce misses.
Why old data can help
Your history can distinguish an old weakness that has been repaired from a current weakness that still exists.
When resetting can make sense
- You abandoned the section months ago.
- Your old progress data is meaningless because you clicked through everything.
- You are beginning a genuinely new study cycle.
Completion is not mastery
The dashboard is not the exam.
A course showing 100% complete does not mean you are prepared, and a reset does not erase what you already know.
