Last-Section Burnout Guide · Updated November 2026

I Passed 3 of 4 CPA Exams and Now I Am Burned Out. How Do I Finish?

At 3/4, the problem is often not whether you can pass. It is execution fatigue. You may know the process and still be completely sick of studying.

Stop waiting to feel motivated

The fourth section still requires opening the material, doing questions, and reviewing mistakes. Being 3/4 does not magically make studying fun.

Make the plan smaller

If three hours every night now feels impossible, reduce the entry point to 20 MCQs, one hour, one Area, or one weak concept.

Use a minimum day

Create a minimum you can complete even after a rough workday, such as 20 MCQs plus review of the misses. More is optional.

Stop trying to study like version one of you

Your first section may have happened under different work, energy, or life conditions. Build the fourth-section plan around your current reality.

Use what the first three taught you

You now know which study methods wasted time, how Prometric feels, how long final review takes, and whether lectures or MCQs work better for you.

Do not over-study because it is the last one

Use readiness evidence instead of studying until you feel zero uncertainty.

Create a finish line

A realistic appointment turns “I eventually need to finish” into a concrete timeline.

What if credit is expiring?

Confirm the actual expiration date and leave buffer. Do not let avoidance consume the remaining window.

Last-section plan

Phase 1

Minimum consistent daily study.

Phase 2

Complete Area coverage.

Phase 3

Mixed MCQs and TBS practice.

Phase 4

Final 14-day narrowing.

Phase 5

Take the Exam.

The takeaway

Small daily action + a real finish date.

Three sections already proved you can pass CPA Exams. Finish the process.
